Lava Hot Springs!

So, the Thursday after Memorial Day we headed to Lava Hot Springs!
We took Brandon's parents pop up trailer and headed to the KOA!
The kids LOVE Camping!! Here they are right after we set up!
Macy LOVED her chair!! She would lounge in it.
 Tyson found lots of sticks!
One almost was the death of me, they would use it to poke at the fire, and Tyson and Lily would fight over it constantly!!!
 The clan!
A cute older couple were camped behind us (they took this pic for us) and they would just watch and laugh at us and would remember when they did this with their kids and how grateful they are that they can now go camping by themselves and enjoy some peace and quiet!! (until a family like us shows up!!)
I loved seeing Macy in her "highchair" eating on the grass!
She loved it!!
Since we were camping we let the kids enjoy more soda than they needed!
Lily and her Diet Coke!
 Cute Macy!
 Our set up!
I just can't get enough of this cute little stink!!
Tyson's tooth was super loose, he looked like a hillbilly with it hanging there! (It hung in there for another week!!)
 Ninja Tyson!!
 Ballerina Lily!!
 At the Lava Swimming Pool!
Lily was for sure not going to drown!!
Tyson spent most of his time going on one of the  three slides!
(You can see it in the background...it is red!)
 Macy and Dad!

I have to do the self portraits to prove I am there...
But how can you resist cute Macy's face!!
So it turns out that Lava is a been there, done that kind of place (for us!).
The town is only about a half mile long (so when we went running we had to go a mile to a mile and a half out of town then back just to get 3 or 4 miles!!)
The actual hot springs are way to hot for the kids, but cool that they are natural and don't have sulfur so they don't stink! The pool was warm, but that was about it...the pools in Utah are WAY cooler!!
And our kids were too young to float down the river, so I guess we should have gone when they are older, but we did have a great time camping and being a family!!
The third day we went to Pocatello (since we did all we could in Lava) to another swimming pool. It was fun!
We played a lot of Uno, checkers, tick-tack- toe and other games!
Lily loved to KOA, she told me quite a few times that if our house broke we could live there at the KOA!

On the way home we stopped at the Golden Spike!
We watched a Charlie Brown movie on how it was made and then checked it out!

We kind of did it as a been there, done that too, but it was very educational!!
I took that picture of Brandon and the kids and Lily is crying because Tyson pushed her off the railroad tie that signified the last railroad tie and spike because he didn't want her to ruin it!! Then Tyson asked Brandon "what about Mom in a picture?" and Brandon told her that I didn't need to be in a picture...(which I am ALWAYS behind the camera and when Brandon is taking pictures he cuts me out of them!) So I teased that Brandon thinks I am ugly and doesn't want me in pictures, so here is his sorry picture he had us pose for!
It was a fun trip! It is always fun to get away with family!!
The only bad part about the trip is that Brandon got a call from work on the last day that wasn't good and it ruined the last day for him! But he was a good sport and tried his best to not think about it and be 100% apart of what we were doing!

Um, so no repeat trip next year?

The kids will remember it as a fun time, especially with their awesome stick!
