Christmas 2010

Tyson wrote a letter to Santa and drew a picture for him and one for his elves! It was so cute, so we mailed it and he got this letter from Santa in return!

The questions he had on his letter were:

How do you know when kids are asleep and awake or naughty and nice?

He was upset to find that Santa keeps some things secret!

He was ecstatic to get a letter back from Santa!

Thanks Santa!

We had a fantastic Christmas this year! I love Christmas! I love how excited the kids are...I love that I can use Santa as my scapegoat for why they need to be good...I love the yummy treats...I just love it all!

This pic was just cute a little diaper Lily playing with the tree...Tyson had to join in with partial nudity!

On Christmas eve our family tradition is to see a movie and go out to eat! Well, we wanted to see Megamind at the cheap theatre but the time we wanted was sold out! (What?! When did everyone else decided to see an old movie at a cheap theatre on Christmas eve...don't you have family parties to get to?) Anyways, we bought for the next showing and took the kids to Kangaroo zoo they were in heaven! Lily through a tantrum when it was time to leave, (Brandon got it on his phone!) We finally got her to come and we headed to Megamind! It was pretty funny! We finished the night at Chili's! (Which we have decided they have taken our favs off the menu so we aren't too big of fans anymore!) Lily was exhausted by the time we got home so Brandon put her to bed while Tyson and I made Santa's cookies!

(I love the tongue out! I do that too when I am concentrating! Brandon came to help and noticed drool on the cookie sheet!!)

Proud of his treats to Santa! He wanted to put all the cookies on Santa's plate and I talked him down to 6!

Christmas morning was great! Lily was already in our room since she had been coughing all night, then Tyson came into our room and Brandon asked him what today was and Tyson said, "what?"..."oh yeah it is Christmas!" So we headed down stairs! Every year Tyson cannot seem to find what Santa gave him! This year he saw his stocking and his scooter was right behind it but he couldn't find it! Lily had no problem finding hers!

Trying it out!

The kids haul! They had a great Christmas if I do say so myself!

At my Mom's we always take a family picture!

Aren't we cute!

The crazy one!

Brandon you are one crazy fool!!!

We stayed at my Mom's for quite a while playing my Bro's Kinect games! It was a great time!

After my Mom's we headed to Brandon's parents and relaxed, did puzzles and Brandon and Tyson did Legos!

Who could ask for a better Christmas!

With all of us still coughing from the past month of sickness we spent Sunday home relaxing and trying finally to get rid of our coughs! Here are both kids watching Scooby-Doo...Tyson's choice!

And since I forgot to take our annual family picture on Christmas morning...we did it in our comfy clothes on Sunday!

Merry 2010 Christmas!

Santa and Tyson Preschool program!

So our new tradition (which started last year!) is to visit Santa at the Lehi Kneaders! He is the best Santa!

Tyson and Lily got so excited when Santa came in and when Santa saw them he said, "Tyson, Lily is that you? You have gotten so big!"

One of Santa's helpers came to preschool and Tyson knew he wasn't the real Santa because he had black shoes with white shoelaces! Ahhh!

This Santa had black boots and knew his name! He was for sure the "real" Santa!

This is as close to Santa as Lily would get! But she loved talking to him from afar! She told him she tried some bread and thanks for the candy cane!

The best part is after we talk with Santa we get to eat Kneaders french toast!!

YUM! Merry Christmas Santa!

Tyson had his preschool Christmas program on Friday and Tyson did such a great job!

His nose was a little itchy (you can tell from the videos!) But he did great!

This picture was after the program was over and they were having treats! Lily loves being one of the big kids! The cute little girl next to Tyson is Davi. She and Tyson are cute little buddies! On field trips they are often holding hands!

Cute!

Great job Buddy!

Christmas....

Every year we get a live tree and with the worry of it drying out we get it a couple of weeks before Christmas. We always seem to get it at night and it is freezing so I was excited when I was able to get home from shopping with my Mom, Sisters and Brother and it was still light out we could get a tree in the day light! Well, when I got home Brandon and I could smell gas and it was coming from the furnace so we had to call and wait for a repair man!
So, We got the tree in the dark! I guess it is a tradition for us!!!
Once we finally got it inside I took the kids to tub and shower time and got them ready for bed while Brandon put on the lights. Once the kids were ready for bed, Brandon was done with the lights so we decorated!!!
The kids had the best time ever! They loved to have Brandon lift them up to decorate the top and Lily loved one lower spot! She put all her decorations there!! Brandon was in charge of separating the ornaments that were too close to each other!

It turned out pretty darn cute and the kids were really proud of their work!

Last night we busted out the gingerbread house!
I had to frost pretty fast because the candy was disappearing at an even faster rate!
We had so much fun!
Lily kept saying "tah dah"!
Cute little stinks!
We are sure excited for Christmas!

Tyson's Shrek Birthday Party!

So this year for Tyson's friend party we did a Shrek theme!
The kids made their own Shrek ears with their names on them!
They are giving me their best "Shrek" face!

Here is their best "Donkey" face!
Kade does a pretty darn good Donkey face!!
(Kyle, Kade, Tyson, Lily, Jaycie, Chesney and Elsie! Another friend Myles was there, but came a little late!)
Next we played pin the wings on Donkey!
They are coloring their wings!

Tyson went first! He was a little upset he wasn't perfect and wanted to do it again! Being the mean Mom I am I wouldn't let him!

Nana came for a half an hour so she took Lily's turn since Lily didn't want to! Nana was WAY off!

Next we did a cake walk on Shrek pictures! The kids decided it was fun to jump off the ottoman while going around! Tyson is in mid air!

Then they went on an Ogre hunt!
Brandon is reading them the clues!

We played Rumpelstiltskin says so whoever was Rumpelstiltskin wore the red wig!

"Rumpelstiltskin" said crawl like a cat!

Then they decorated "Gingy" cookies!

Blowing out the candles!

Tyson was insistent on a pinata so we found a dragon one to keep with the Shrek theme!

It was one tough pinata, so after Brandon finally took a swing at it, it broke off and we had to pull it apart! The kids couldn't wait to get to that candy!

Opening presents! He LOVED everything he got! Seriously every present he opened he was truly excited!
Thanks to all of Tyson's little friends for coming we had a great time!
Happy Birthday Buddy!

Tyson

Today our cute little Tyson turned into a big 5 year old!
Since I started blogging when he was a little over two and I am using my blog as my scrapbook/journal I thought I would put some of my favorite picts of Tyson from his 5 years...
Tyson Stanley born 11/26/2005
8lbs 9oz
20 1/2inches long

What a sweet little face! Tyson was a sweet little guy, but he had reflux and spit up almost everything he ate, so he wanted to be held all the time. (Which I didn't mind since he was my first except when I needed to get something done!) I remember crying to Brandon asking him to make the bed before he left for work because Tyson wouldn't let me put him down long enough to make it! I wasn't good at just letting him cry!

Our announcement/Christmas card picture. All of us in cute little track jackets! Ahhh!
Tyson was such a funny little sleeper! He would do this quite often, I guess he needed it darker to sleep well!He also did crazy things like arching his back all the time! Silly kid!
I just love this cute little baldy!

Tyson didn't start packing on the pounds until about 9 months or so. Being a first time Mom and trying to nurse a baby that spit everything up and I didn't know I wasn't producing enough and with the reflux he was starving. Once the Dr. figured that out we put Tyson on formula and he finally plumped right up!

I love to swaddle my babies! (I probably do it longer than most people, but I love it and my kids love it!)
Tyson has always been the happiest kid I know! Still to this day he is so darn happy all the time!
He is so darn handsome too! This wasn't his blessing day, but this is what he wore for his blessing!
He has loved sugar from the beginning! I think he could live off of sugar and butter and be one happy camper! (Not that I feed him straight sugar or butter!!!)
He has always been my binky baby and I loved that too! I just think it is too cute!

Again the happiest kid ever!
I love this pict! He just looks so cute and styling! Air Jordan shoes, track suit and cool plaid hat! I think Dad was fishing with Papa on this day and it was just too cold for me and my little buddy!

Tyson has always been my little running buddy! When we first moved into our house I started running again and he quite often feel asleep so I would push him in the front door and hurry and shower before he woke up! (At least this would happen once he was closer to a year old...around 4 or 5 months he would always seem to scream on the last road in the neighborhood so I would sprint home so no one would think I was a horrible parent letting my baby scream so I could run!)
Tyson has always been our TV kid! Here he is watching one of his favorite movies at that time...Monsters Inc.!

Tyson loves to help do ANYTHING! He really thought carving pumpkins was awesome! And still does to this day! What kid doesn't!?!

Proud of his pumpkins!
Tyson's first Halloween! Our Star Wars family!

So, we had this pine tree on the side of our house, but whoever planted it there was never planning on having a fence or a gate, but we did so one year for Christmas we cut it down and used it as our Christmas tree! It looked smaller outside than it was inside and I didn't think about how big those branches were on that kind of pine tree, but it worked and still looked really good! And what a fun story...we cut down our own tree and didn't have to travel very far!
This pict is from my cell phone (so are some others that aren't that clear!) Tyson is sitting in his Uncle Cam's fire truck! I love it because he is so stiff trying to keep the headphones on! He thought it was so awesome!
Helping with dinner! He loved it when he was tall enough to stand on the stool and see over the counter! After a run we would go and feed the ducks in the neighborhood! The ponds are fun for that reason, but the mosquitoes are another story!
Coming home from Colorado this is how we found Tyson! The king is resting!
Tyson loves to be outside! Here he is throwing rocks into the water and decided he needed to get a little closer for the good rocks! At the Zoo looking thru the turtle shell! I just love that little face and chubby legs!
Wearing Mom's sports bra and underwear! Clean of course!

Wearing Dad's Utah jacket! With matching binky too!
Our last Christmas before we became 4!
This is as close to getting himself undressed as Tyson got! (Which I look back on and love when I hear other Mom's talking about not being able to keep clothes on their kids!)

What kid doesn't want to blow bubbles in their milk!

I just love how cute he is in this picture! We are feeding the ducks at the other neighborhood pond!
Tyson has always loved having his own style!
Who doesn't want to wear brand new underpants on their head! (Now up to date...the in between stuff I have on prior blogs!)Lily didn't want to miss out on the fun either!
Tyson is so creative and has such the imagination! Here is his clown face! (A little scary, but creative!)

At the dentist the other day he picked a mustache for his prize. I asked him to get dressed the next morning and he came out as Tyson the man!
Happy 5th birthday big guy! We love you! And Lily loves her "Buddy!"
I added some cute video's of Tyson. If you are able to watch the roll over one (it was from my phone) warning: turn the volume down... Brandon and I get quite excited!!
