Bear Lake!

We went to Bear Lake for our last summer trip last weekend!
It was my first time to Bear Lake and Brandon's second and we LOVED it!
We think we will try to go every year we loved it so much!!
The kids while we were setting up!

I cannot get enough of this little face!

Macy has decided that soda is her favorite!!
This black cherry soda ended up more on her shirt than in her mouth!
We ended up throwing the shirt away! I figured after 4 days of camping it probably wouldn't come out in the wash!

We had a friend that was at Bear Lake just before we got there and she said the South side wasn't all that good, so we headed to the North side and we were so glad we did!
It was about 15-20minutes from the KOA and in St. Charles, Idaho and perfect!
The beach was about 2miles wide and it was shallow forever out into the water which was perfect for us!
Macy could have stayed at the beach all day!! She loved that she could be so independent!!
Cute bathing beauty!!
She wanted to try on Lily's goggles!
Brandon, Tyson and Lily heading far out to the waist deep to float and play!
We bought this dinosaur floaty for Macy, but Lily loved it and Macy didn't want anything to do with it so it worked out great!
Brandon got his bum stuck on a sandbar!!
Macy and I hung out in the super shallow parts!
Macy ate soooo much dirt, sand, sticks, rocks... anything she could she ate!
It was a busy weekend, but we still had plenty of room with the beach being so big and shallow!
 Another view!
Brandon and I took turns floating with the kids!
Cute Lily with her floaties and tube...she wasn't going to drown!
 Tyson chillin'
In the "Hot Tub" another family made!
The water was really quite warm!
The sand castle we made!
We spent about 4 hours the first day at the beach!
We got back to the KOA, showered and took a family bike ride on this beauty!!
Tyson was so embarrassed to be on this bike riding thru town!
He is only 6 and we already embarrass him! I love it!!
Macy and Lily in the bike basket!!
Ahh cute!!
The KOA had a jumping pillow that the kids did each night!
Tyson wanted this picture to show him laying on the biggest pillow he has ever laid on!!

They did "train" rides each night and the kids LOVED it!
The second day we again went to the North Beach, but we went to the end which was a "private beach" that we could drive onto. It cost the same as the public beach and it was attached to the public beach, but we went there so we could rent a sea doo!
We got there at 10:30 and people were already there, but not many...yet!
Tyson and Brandon were renting the sea doo while the girls and I played in the water!
Brandon and I took turns taking the kids out on the sea doo. Lily liked it, but not for that long. Tyson LOVED it especially when Brandon let him drive it himself!
We had the sea doo for 2 hours and stayed at the beach for about 5 hours that day!
Macy playing in the water while we were packing up!
We tried to get souvenirs at this cute little shop by the North beach, but they were closing the first time we tried and they were closed the next time we tried! So we took pictures instead!!
One night we ate dinner at the local Mexican restaurant, we tried their "famous" raspberry shakes, and had an awesome time! We were all sad to go home!

South Jordan Half Marathon

We ran the South Jordan Half Marathon on July 7th.
It was a really small race with a little over 100 runners. It ran us all through Daybreak. It was a really pretty run, but man was it a hard race!
They weren't kidding when they said it had plenty of hills in it!
This course whipped my hiney!!
Brandon loved it! He loves hills! He thinks he may do it again next year. I told him I would cheer him on and do a more down hill half marathon!!
All 3 of us ended up with trophies! (not just the participation medal!)
Brandon got 2nd in his age group (OLD!!)
Cori got 3rd in her age group!
I got 1st in my age group (OLD!! Too!!)
They trophies only say "Half Marathon 1st Place"
They don't say the age group or mens or womens so when the kids would ask who's trophy was who's I would tell them Mom got 1st place and Dad only got 2nd!! ;)
 Our supporters!
Colin and Cori slept over at our house, so Colin was with the kids when we left and Nana came over at 7 to help load them up and cheer us on! Mom also came to cheer us on!
Thanks guys it sure makes a big difference to have a cheering squad!!
I loved this! When we finished Cori showed us that a bird had pooped on her while she was running!!!
Our crazy kids! I love having them watch us do hard things!
It was fun to come down the finish shoot and have Lily jumping up and down waving excited to see me! I tried to give her a high five but we missed!
Tyson was cheering really loud!
And when I got to everyone Macy yelled "Momma!"
I love these guys!!
This was my first half marathon (or race for that matter) in two years!
(I took a year and a half hiatus after having Macy!)
It is nice to be back into the swing of things!!
(I stole all these pictures from Nana's blog! Thanks Nana!!)

Classic Tyson!

So, we went to the mall the other day to make some returns and walking down the middle the curling iron lady got Lily's attention and next thing I knew Lily was sitting in her chair getting her hair curled! (how can cute Lily resist being called a princess and being asked if she wanted her hair to be curled all pretty!)
Anyways, I thought OK curl her hair, give me the run down and we will get out of here!
Well, she stared with the curling iron and flat iron with a life time guarantee. I said No. She cut the price in half, I said No. She added a $25 spray for free, I said NO. She threw in $25 Conditioner for free, I said NO. She took away the curling iron, cut the price of the flat iron in half again and threw in $25 shampoo for free, I finally said Yes! (I have a working flat iron at home that I have had for over a year and it will die soon, I pay good money to get my hair done, I should probably use good hair tools on it and I have always wanted a good flat iron) So, I was OK with getting the flat iron half off, and the shampoo, conditioner and spray for free!
We got home I made dinner, Brandon got home, and while we were eating dinner Tyson pipes up and asks Brandon if he noticed something new about Lily's hair? Brandon said, Yes Mom curled it, Tyson said No the other side (which was curlier) Then Tyson proceeds to tell Brandon the whole story (which he told rather accurately!) I couldn't respond because when he started I had a mouth full of food! Then Tyson gave out a little giggle and said "Classic Up-sale!"
What 6 year old even knows the words classic up-sale or even understands the process??
Our Tyson!
It killed us! Funny kid!
(BTW, the flat iron is awesome! I have no regrets that I fell into the classic up-sale!!)

The good old cabin!

Brandon ran Ragnar with some of our neighbors this year as a fill in and since we had to pick him up in Park City we decided to stay the night at the cabin!
We love going to the cabin in the summer...it is so easy, we can just drive right up to the cabin, we don't have to winterize or de-winterize, it is just nice!
I posted about this before, but we loved that Macy would fall asleep on the four-wheelers!
She is also at the stage of backing up and sitting down and the fireplace was the perfect height for her! Anytime we couldn't find her she seemed to be sitting here!!

I haven't driven a four-wheeler forever and now that Macy is big enough and we have 3 kids I decided it was time to ride again! I think I didn't like it before because the "big bear" is a fickle four-wheeler and would always stall on me, but these red ones are perfect for me! Lily and I enjoyed riding together!
We only stayed one night and we forgot our gate key and had to drive to Brandon's parents house, but it was a perfect little get away!!

Here are just some random pictures!
Macy LOVES giving Lily and Tyson hugs! It is way too cute!!

FIRE!!!!

So, here is the Herriman fire view from our front door, that turned out to be about a mile west of us. Brandon called me that day and asked how far the fire was from us and I said, "what fire?" until I walked out and saw this! It needed to crest one more hill until it got to our hill. Luckily the firefighters were amazing and the winds were cooperating! We were one block away from being evacuated, but I still packed and was prepared!
It was pretty crazy since my sister WAS evacuated from the Saratoga fire the week before!
This picture doesn't do it justice, but this is a view of the Alpine fire from our back deck the other night! All the glowing up high on the hill was the fire.
It was pretty crazing sitting out on our back deck on the 4th watching fireworks go off and seeing the fire up on the mountain! I sure hope everyone was careful and that Utah is done with all these man made accidental fires!!!

Sleeping!

Our other two kids never did this, so it is fun to find Macy asleep in random places!
The above picture is when I was getting ready for church so she laid down in the closet and fell asleep! (ignore the messy closet floor!)
These ones on the stairs were close to bed time when I was changing the kids sheets. She was following me from the laundry room to their room, but she only made it 3 steps before falling asleep!

When we went to the cabin she was a little apprehensive about the 4wheelers, but she obviously got used to them because on 2 occasions she fell asleep by the time the ride was over!
Cute sleepy girl!
