Camping!

So we got up the courage and took the kids camping for the first time and they LOVED it! We did too!
We went to Gooseberry Reservoir and it was beautiful! I haven't ever camped like this before because my Grandparents have property in the Unitas so we always went there, but I really enjoyed this. We were right on the lake, but the only downfall was there weren't any trees at our campgrounds but since we borrowed Brandon's parents pop-up trailer, the awning gave us shade.
This was Lily's favorite thing to do...get drinks from the cooler!

Tyson enjoying licorice! (we had only been there about 20 minutes and we already had to break out the treats!)

In their cute little camp chairs!

Tyson was so excited to go fishing he could hardly contain himself! He emptied out Brandon's fishing bag while "patiently" waiting!

Cute girl! She loved to get dirty!

Tyson was a little more "patient" when candy was involved!

Both kids were so busy the whole time! It was so fun to see them run and play and get dirty and love every minute of it!

Tyson and Brandon doing what they love! (Tyson fishes more like me...5minutes if I don't have a fish I am pretty much done!)

Our little fisherman!

Lily liked to "fish" too! She just liked to put the rod in the water and pull out all the fishing line!
Brandon ended up catching 4 fish (we would have had more, but some got away, Tyson just wasn't quick enough!) One that got away got so close Tyson could see it, so I asked him how big it was and he said..."Mom, you know the fattest man on TV, when it got close, it weighed that much!" It was one HUGE fish that got away!

Sweet little girl!

Saturday morning was so beautiful and peaceful!
Friday night on the other hand was a bit miserable and not because of our kids! Around 12:00 midnight a family pulled in two spots down from us and didn't care that anyone was asleep. They were as loud as loud could be and they never went to bed. We figure it was two families and there was a total of about 12 of them and 2 yapping chihuahuas. Sometimes I don't know what people are thinking...didn't they see the 7 other trailers and think, Hmmm maybe they are sleeping and we should be quiet???!! Not this family! Luckily they were beat by Saturday night and actually slept!

Tyson brought up his HeMan's! (They were Brandon's from when he was little!)
He hid all the "Bad" guys for HeMan to fight!

Another bad guy hiding!

The kids were champs at cooking marshmallows and eating smores!
YUMMY!

With such little kids we did campfire and smores in the daylight!

Lily loved the marshmallows!

Waiting for breakfast!
Ahhh refreshment!
Just before leaving!
Take a look at our crazy Tyson!
We had such a fun time! The kids were great...and nice to each other. (Although, Lily did hit Tyson, so she learned to say a new word... "orry" sorry! It was so cute how she would say it, I almost wanted her to get in trouble again and again so I could hear her say it!)
3 More weeks and we are heading to to Unitas to try it out again!

Making Changes!

We snatched up these cute night stands when Brandon's parents were getting rid of them, but as our bedroom has been slowly coming along we decided that brown was not the color we needed, so we thought we would sell them and buy new ones. But as I was pricing out nightstands I was shocked on how much they cost! Even the little night tables with only a top and legs are expensive, so we decided to keep these ones and just repaint them!
Pictures never quite do it justice, but I really like how they turned out!
Although, I do have to say.... re-doing things is NOT my thing. I was ready to be done with it 5 minutes into it! But you can't beat the price. Spray primer and paint...$30. Two new night stands...$150 and up!

My next home improvement project was to add knobs and pulls to our cabinets. This wasn't too bad except for the measuring...(don't look too close they may be a little off!)
I was worried it my look too "busy" but I really like how they turned out!
Way to go me!

Happy Father's Day

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
This year for Fathers day it was a two day event! On Saturday we took the kids swimming at the Lindon pool (which we highly recommend for big and little kids alike!) The kids had a great time...so did Brandon and I!
We picked up Chili's for dinner and headed home. We had gotten Brandon an electric razor and he wanted it as soon as I bought it, so he has had it for a few weeks now...but we did TRY to surprise him with an ice cream cake, but he had to get Tyson and his friend a Popsicle that morning and saw the cake! Oh well!
So after dinner we enjoyed some raspberry cheesecake ice cream cake from Cold Stone! YUM!
For Sunday we BBQ'd!
The kids LOVE helping Dad husk the corn!
And they love eating the corn! (or licking!)

We had a spread fit for an army! It was delicious!
After dinner we played outside and enjoyed some more ice cream cake!
Cool Tyson in Brandon's sunglasses!
Happy Father's day Brandon!
You are one awesome Dad!
We couldn't ask for anyone better!
We love you!

13.1

So, we did a half marathon on Saturday.
We weren't too sure about how we felt about it, I was not in the mood at all to train for it (but I did) and by the time June 12th came around it was cold and rainy!
We also knew that the race would start early, but we didn't realize it started 5:30 early and that we had to be at the Provo Towne Mall at 4:30 at the latest to catch the last bus, so we had to wake up at 3:00 in the morning so we could leave by 3:45 at the latest!
WHAT WERE WE THINKING???
To top it all off (totally off the subject!) I have been trying to sign the kids up for swimming lessons and the last session I tried for opened registration up at 2:30am so I thought I would just sign them up as soon as I woke up, well at 7:45am all of Tyson's classes were full! Are you kidding me!!??! So I had to wait for this next session to open registration which happened to be this Saturday morning. Lucky for me it opened at 3:30am and I was getting ready for the race and signed them up at 3:30am on the dot! Once I was done registering I noticed that 2 slots were already taken for Tyson's class! Someone else must have set their alarm for 3:30 to insure a spot too!
Anyways, back to the race...when we left it was raining pretty hard and we were really rethinking things. We got there and the rain stopped and we timed it pretty well that we only had to wait about 35minutes for the race to start (even with it starting about 15 minutes late!)
Well, we ended up loving this race. It started up Provo canyon at Vivian Park and was a straight shot to Provo Towne Mall. It was all down hill with 2 uphills towards the end. It rained a little bit for about 2 or so miles, which I didn't mind at all and there was a little bit of a head wind, but not too bad. I did at mile 3 have to tie my shoe! But overall it was a great race! This is a race I would recommend to those thinking about running a half or a full Marathon!
Brandon and I both did great!
Brandon ran it in 1:34:27 (that makes an average of 7:12 min/miles)
He was 35th overall, 27th male, and 4th in his age group.
I ran it in 1:39:49 (average of 7:37 min/mile)
50th overall, 12th female and 3rd in my age group.
Way to go us!
Big thanks to Colin and Cori for sleeping over to be here for our two yoohoo's!
Then to top it off even higher... we had to be at the Draper Temple by 10:30 for a friends wedding. After the luncheon we picked up the kids from Nana (thanks to you too!) fed the kids dinner and by 8:30 all of us were sound asleep!
What a day!
Next Brandon signed up for the Logan Top of Utah Marathon! I am being smart and sitting this one out! ;)
He really wants to give it one more try to qualify for Boston. His last Marathon he only missed it by 3minutes!
Here's to Brandon and his training! Yahoo!

Memorial Day plus one busy week!

This year for Memorial day, Brandon was actually in town! (His company has planned a Lake Mead trip for the last two years, but not this year!)
So we got to enjoy some family time!
Brandon's sister came to visit with her two kids from Arizona, so on Monday we went with B's family to Liberty Park for a picnic and play time, then we went to Tracy Aviary. I don't remember if I have been there before, but it was really nice and fun to see all the different kids of birds! The kids loved it!

Brandon and Tyson playing freeze tag with Andi and Paige!

After the Aviary we headed back to Brandon's parents house because Liberty Park was quite busy...there was quite a diverse group of people hanging out at the park so we decided to play somewhere were the kids would not get lost or stolen!

Cute Trey stealing the freeze ball!

Lily just wanted to swing! She LOVES to swing!

Even if she is just dangling she LOVES to swing!

One day(since I can't remember what we did on what day!) we went met with Nana and Andi and the kids at the mall to see Paige get her ears pierced. She was so brave. For the rest of the week, the earrings were well discussed. Tyson always made sure they were turned the right way and Paige loved when he would look at them! Then Nana let the kids ride the carousel. They LOVED that too!

Tuesday night we were lucky enough to go with Grandma Wendy to the opening of the new Incredible Pizza Place in Draper. My Mom had received a VIP pass and she could invite 4 people to go with her, lucky for us there are 4 in our family so we got to go!
It was a lot of fun, but very busy because it was opening night!
Tyson very intense while driving!

Lily loved the rides!

Brandon became addicted to this game, but he earned a lot of tickets for the kids!
We had a great time!
Thanks Grandma Wendy!
One night (again can't remember which one!) Tyson slept over at Nana's house with Paige!
They told Nana when they were ready for bed, because they were going to giggle and talk all night!
The next day we went to Kangaroo Zoo. A great place for the kids! Lily even got in on the action!
Lily on the frog!
Another day...I think Thursday! We went to the aquarium!
The kids really enjoyed all the fish! Tyson and Paige wanted to know what every fish was called and Trey and Lily mostly wanted to climb up the rocks!

Tyson's turn!
(Tyson loves to "read" the maps everywhere we go!)

Trey's Turn!

And Paige!

Cute kids!

Lily has just started giving huge cheesy grins for the camera, I was a little slow so I missed the big smile!

Nana let the kids pick a project from the aquarium. They chose glow in the dark ocean creatures that they could paint! (Lily and Trey got puzzles!)

Then Paige had a sleepover at our house!
We put up both tents in Tyson's room!

Then we finished with Friday playing and eating at Nana and Papa's house!
It was such a great week!
Thanks Nana for all the fun!
Tyson was so sad that Paige and Trey had to go back home, but they are coming to visit again in 128 days (less now!!??)
Saturday of the holiday week, we finished our little family by running, seeing Shrek at the theatres, and planting more veggies in our garden!
The kids helping Dad kill...I mean plant the veggies!
What a fun week!
