YAY FOR TREY!

This cute little guy is officially part of the family!
Brandon's sister Andrea and Tate adopted Trey and the adoption was finally official on Monday!
They live in Arizona and were going to do an adoption party and Brandon's Mom had mentioned that she was sad that she couldn't go to the party. So I decided to do the next best thing...
I made cookies
( they did say YAY FOR TREY but they didn't turn out as I had pictured and someone had eaten the T before I took the picture!)

And I made Bingo cards with all the grand kids and Nana and Papa's pictures on it! So all of us Utah Russell's surprised Nana and did our very little adoption party in Utah!
Congrats Andi and Tate we are so excited for your family!

Heart Babies

On Saturday we took the kids to the Olympic Oval to go ice skating. It was all for a good cause. My cousin had her little boy pass away in August due to a Congenital Heart Defect (we was one month older than Lily, it breaks my heart) So my cousins were doing a fundraiser for CHD.It was a good thing we were going for the fundraiser, because Tyson was not a big fan of ice skating. Brandon and I can't blame him. It is not our cup of tea either!
They have these great little walkers to help the first timers! Tyson thought it was OK until the first time he fell on his bum!

He thought the ice skates were pretty darn cool!

Our cute little fam!
We didn't have Lily try to ice skate, but she wanted to really bad, so before we got off the ice I let her try it with her shoes on. She thought it was awesome!
The other part of the fundraiser was this slide, food and a silent auction. Tyson made friends with anyone who was standing next to him on the slide. For awhile his buddy was a cute little 8yr old girl, then any random kid that would talk to him! He is such a friendly kid! He spent a good half our straight on this slide!
Lily thought it looked pretty fun too, so I carried her up and we went down together. She couldn't get enough of it! It was great exercise for me. It was a pretty steep climb to the top on an uneven surface carrying 24lbs in one arm!
Again and Again!
Ange came with us too! (She was the great photographer of all these pictures except this one!)
Ange and cute Grandma Spencer!
Lily getting cotton candy for the first time! Aunt Tony kept giving us more and more treats for Lily and Tyson to eat! They had enough sugar to kill them! They loved it!

Tyson getting not 1, but 2 bags of popcorn from Aunt Jeanne!
It looked like it was a great turn out for a great cause! We had a fun time!

After the fundraiser we went to my Mom's house to celebrate Ange's birthday!
The boys and kids outside looking at the mole or gofer holes in my Mom's yard. Laine tried to set up some traps to catch them. When they didn't work Laine and Ryan tried to flood them out!
Ange and Kaylee cooking the Tempura!
Lily wouldn't let me help with any of the cooking. She would scream if I wasn't touching her or more than 1 foot away from her!

Chesney and Tyson putting together Gorbachev.

Happy Birthday Ange! Great food and Great company always fun!

Tyson the Artist

Tyson has really been into coloring lately. One day I was cleaning or cooking in the kitchen and Tyson told me he was going to draw a picture of me. It was a cute stick figure with the sun. I loved it, but he told me I needed clothes so I drew the outline of clothes on this cute stick figure (I am such a great artist (; ) Then he asked for some clouds. He told me he needed to finish the picture, and this was the outcome! I thought it was so awesome that I had to take a picture! I am one proud Momma!

Today Tyson was drawing satellites (I don't know where this came from?!?) When he got the great idea (his words) to tape them to our ceiling. So we put his satellite up (center) and he decided it needed people to work on it so he drew Me, Brandon, Lily and himself as astronauts. But then if we were in space we needed stars, so yellow and orange stars came out, but space also has planets, so he settled for Mars (because he knows it is the red plant) the sun and the moon. But then we needed aliens if we are in space, so he drew an alien with 2 heads, 1 body and no arms, and one alien with 3 eyes, 2 mouths, invisible arms and invisible body with legs.

Our living room ceiling is pretty awesome right now!

What a creative kid!

Silly Lily and Crazy Tyson!

I just can't get enough of these two! They (Tyson, Lily is just there for his entertainment!)decided to decorate themselves with party foam stickers! Cute little Stinks!

One morning Tyson asked if we could make him a robot costume. I didn't have any boxes, but of coarse I had AE bags that worked just as well. The part hanging on his arm is his remote. If you push certain buttons the "robot" talks, walks or his secret computer comes out and he can do even more tricks!

Classic Lily (sorry for the no pants look!) She always has a towel, wash rag, blanket on her head or wrapped around her neck! She loves to walk around the house with it over her head and loves to "surprise" us when she takes it off!

(ignore the mess of stuff in the kitchen, our house has been in a state of confusion for quite some time! That post will be coming soon! I hope!!)

Silly Binky girl!

Valentines

So Brandon and I aren't huge Valentines people. We usually don't get each other much and don't really do anything except maybe go out to dinner. This year was much of the same.
I love to make sugar cookies for Valentines (along with almost the rest of the world!)
Tyson loves to help! (he really just loves to eat the frosting and sprinkles!)
Don't worry if you got some of these from us... Tyson only frosted and sprinkled the ones we ate, not the ones we gave!
He decided that each cookie needed multiple colors of sprinkles!
(Like the nice stickers on Tyson's head...we had been to American Eagle earlier that day and Tyson is obsessed with stickers...he steals them from the clothes and puts them all over his body. He has one on each hand, two on his head and two on his belly! He also loved to show people at the store all of his stickers...the belly ones included! Never a dull moment with Tyson!)
YUMMY!

This one is more sprinkles than anything!
I did use this holiday to get us prepared for the warmer weather (my wishful thinking and the fact that we are going to Arizona in April!) The kids got some new short sleeved shirts and shorts and Brandon and I got some new T-shirts (explains the trip to AE!)

The night before Valentines we took the kids to a UofU Basketball game. They both loved it and made it through the whole game, even overtime!
Me and Tyson. My scary big eyes and Tyson's closed eyes!
Not my favorite picture, but I want the kids to remember that Mom came to these things with them since I am always behind the camera!

Tyson loved cheering "Go Utes!"
They were handing out suckers and the kids LOVED them!

Lily loved being a big girl! We didn't buy her a seat, but there were some extra seats by us so she got one of her own! (We were all a little bit sticky by the end thanks to Lily!)

She LOVES drinks!

Tyson and Brandon! That is Tyson's new Stealth Bumblebee Transformer (or as Tyson calls it Bumblebees Father??!!) Thanks Nana and Papa, he takes it everywhere!
We had a great night! The best part was that both kids slept in the next morning! YAHOOOO!

Once there was a snowman!

We finally got out last week and made our first snowman this winter. Tyson and I played in the snow once before while Lily was napping, but I was shoveling the driveway...so it doesn't really count as playing. They were so excited to get outside and play!
But once we got out there, Lily found it was hard to move in the snow with all her clothes on so she cried the whole time!
Here is our snowman! Cute huh! The sun was out (which was awesome!) so a couple hours later our snowman had already started to melt and fell over!

Tyson next to his snow angel!

Lily with a little tear on her face! She loves being outside, but I don't blame her, she couldn't move at all in the snow!

She was happy once she had her coat off and she was out of the snow!
I haven't done really well this year with winter, but I sure love playing in the snow with the kids! Hopefully we can take them sledding soon! :)
