So we had some free Marriot nights that we had to use up by the end of October, so we decided to go somewhere warm and relatively close!
Vegas!
Parts of Vegas were great and parts were a bust!
We first took the kids to Caesars Palace to see the Live Statues, but they weren't out the first two days we were there! :(
We saw the Volcano at Mirage!
On a Tuesday night in October you would think it wouldn't be too busy, but there were a lot of older people and (not being racist, but true) a lot of Asian people. So we had to wait about 30 minutes to save us a good spot to see a 2 minute volcano!
The two types of groups I mentioned above don't seem to care about personal space because even with our stroller we were all shoulder to shoulder!
Our kids were sure cute though and passed the time by taking pictures of themselves and each other!
The kids loved the volcano once it finally went off!
The next morning we went to the chocolate factory to see how chocolate is made!
The M in Ethel M, stands for Mars, so we got to see where some of the Mars candy is made!
Attached to it was a cactus botanical garden!
Loved the chocolate factory and cactus garden!
We also went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay!
They had a lot of cool fish and sharks!
and jellies!
The octopus was very lively and kept swimming back and forth and spreading out his tentacles!
They also had sting rays and horseshoe crabs to pet!
Tyson loved to pet them, but Lily was very scared of them and of course Macy being afraid of anything that moves wouldn't have anything to do with them!
Tyson and I enjoyed feeling them!
Another little bust was after that aquarium we tried to go to the Silverton Hotel where they have a free aquarium with live mermaids. The girls were so excited and when we got there we found out the mermaids weren't swimming that day but would be the next day :( so we walked through the Pro Bass Shop next to the aquarium. It was pretty cool!
Of all the times Brandon has gone to Vegas he has never seen the iconic Vegas sign, so we stopped and took some pics!
(I love Lily and all her poses!)
Tyson was doing L V with his fingers!
This was one of the biggest highlights of our trip!
We went to the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 at the theatre right by our hotel and these were the seats...full leather reclining seats with your own personal tray!! What!! I loved it!
Everyone reclining! I could have fallen asleep it was so comfy!!
The next day we visited the Bellagio Gardens!
Always a favorite!
I think the biggest pumpkin there was over 800lbs!
Thanks to my friend Sinika's blog I knew about this "whirlpool forest" in the Aria hotel!
The kids LOVED it!
The hotel also had this Ferrari there. Macy is crying because we wouldn't let her go for a ride in it!
She also cried because we wouldn't let her gamble or ride on the Mermaid Motorcycle! Silly girl!
We might be in trouble when she gets older!! ;)
We tried to see the fountains at the Bellagio, but they weren't going off when we were there, so we came back later that day when they should have been going off, but it was too windy so they didn't go off that day and we didn't get to see them! :(
We did go to the Popovich Comedy Pet Show at the V Theater at Planet Hollywood. It was over priced (like everything in Vegas) but entertaining!!
Again because of my friend blog we went to see the 3D movie at the M&M store!
That was really fun!
Brandon thought we should try the Mermaid aquarium one more time and we hit the jackpot!
The mermaid was swimming! and we were some of the only people there, so she played a lot with the kids! Lily was in heaven!!
She did flips and spins, she would blow kisses and it would make bubble circles...
and she played a high five game with the kids!
Whew! we didn't want another bust!
We ate dinner at that hotel and when we were done they were feeding the Sting rays!
I love sting rays! They are so cute! It was fun to see them at feeding time!
On our way home we stopped at the Hoover Dam!
Brandon has always wanted to stop and see it!
I had to take these pictures to have proof that the kids do love each other!!
Tyson thought that this was so funny and kept saying, "he is sleeping on the job!" He even showed our tour guide!
Tyson took this picture too!
Macy took this one!
and Lily took this one!
I have never really been interested in the Hoover Dam, but I do have to admit it is quite the place and what they had to do to build it was pretty amazing and how much energy it generates is impressive!
And who can get enough of those Dam jokes!!
We also did some swimming at the hotel, ate at really yummy places and Tyson learned some about how some girls could really regret taking some of the pictures he saw! We were able to keep from seeing most of the sin from sin city (the driving billboards make me crazy!) and had a really good time as a family!
